Common Questions
Are the cleaners insured?
Each cleaner is insured through Pet Care Insurance.
Can I choose which day or time service is performed?
No. The service day and time are determined to maintain affordable service fees by optimizing the most efficient routes.
The scoop day will remain the same each week. If a service day ever changes, communication will be provided in advance. Service routes run from sunrise to sunset.
Where is the waste taken?
The waste is bagged and left on the customer's property, typically in the trash can or wherever the customer requests.
How is the service price influenced by yard size?
Larger yards may be subject to an additional charge. If applicable, any necessary adjustments will be discussed in advance.
Do I have to be home when service is performed?
No, you do not need to be home during service. However, easy gate access is required.
Can my dogs stay in the yard while cleaning is performed?
Aggressive dogs must be kept inside during service. Cleaning can only be performed with friendly dogs in the yard.
What happens when it snows?
Service will be postponed if road conditions are deemed unsafe for travel. In the event of a postponement or cancellation, clients will be notified via email.
What is the cancellation policy?
Scoop General has no contracts, and clients can cancel services at any time for any reason via phone or email.
What is the Returning Customer Fee?
Acquiring new customers requires a significant investment. For example, the service covers the initial costs of cleaning a yard that has not been serviced in some time. Combined with lower prices, it typically takes several months to recover these costs through ongoing service.
A one-time $100 Returning Customer Fee applies to all returning customers. This fee ensures that the initial costs absorbed during the initial service period are fairly recaptured, allowing for sustainable competitive pricing for all customers.
This fee is optional, since it only applies if a customer chooses to return. There is no obligation to return, and customers may decide to explore other service providers.
How does billing work?
The payment provider, Stripe, will charge the account immediately upon registration. Subsequent payments are processed automatically on the first day of each month. The second payment will be prorated based on your start date, if applicable.
Accepted payment methods include credit cards, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay, checks, and ACH bank transfers. Cash is not accepted. Checks should be made payable to Scoop General, LLC.
A $5 payment processing fee applies to all payment methods, except for checks and ACH bank transfers, which are both free.
Is cleaning conducted under decks, crawl spaces, or other tight areas?
For safety and liability reasons, service is not provided to areas that require crawling, entering tight spaces, or going under structures such as decks, porches, or crawl spaces. All areas must be safely and easily accessible for cleaning.
Will you wait if I need more time to let you into my yard?
To keep prices low and service efficient, there's a zero wait time policy. If cleaning cannot be started immediately upon arrival, service will be skipped for that day. Your regular service will resume the following week.
